L.A. Candy

So, I just got done reading my first book other than school on my own yesterday. It is called
"L.A. Candy" by no other than Lauren Conrad. It is her first out of three books she will be writing. The next book in the series is said to be released in Feb '10.

In my opinion this book was great from start to finish. It is about a girl named Jane and her best friend Scarlett that move to LA to start new and fresh lives. They knew exactly what they would be getting into. Late nights at the clubs, shopping on Melrose, and seeing celebrities everywhere they went. However, they did not know that they would soon be a celebrity themselves. Both Jane and Scarlett got the chance to be on a new reality tv show, but what they didn't know was that their lives would never be the same again.

Sometimes you have to let go....

I have experienced and learned that "sometimes you just have to let go" let go of friends, different temptations, things around you, bad habits, etc. One thing I have let go of recently is smoking. I got in and out real quick. I was never an addicted smoker at all. I probably have only smoked roughly 15-20 cigarettes in my lifetime starting when I was 19 years old. Some people smoke that in a day or two for every day of their lives. I realized that smoking is not me at all and it was something I had to try for myself. Also, it is obviously not good for the lungs. I had to let go to better prepare a longer life!!

Another thing I have find myself letting go is friendships. Yes, friends come and go, but in my 20 years I have only "had" to let go of one friendship. It wasn't easy, and definitely took time. In the situations I was in I could not be friends with this person any more.

So, to get to my point sometimes you have to let go. For better or for worse. You think it may be worse at first, but in the long run it will be for better. It's like the rain comes first, and after that you will get some sun and a nice little rainbow. Don't be afraid to let go. Don't be afraid to hurt someone. Eventually everything will be alright my friends! Trust me, I know.

Nothin stays the same forever, but some things just get better

Reflecting back on my life I have learned that "nothing stays the same FOREVER, but some things get better". Things that we want in our lives change and at some point are there anymore. A very easy example of this is friends. We have friends in our life that we see in our lives 10 or so years from now, but it doesnt even make it past 1 or 2 years. People are constantly changing and you may think you know, but we will never know what is next. Only "TIME WILL TELL". I look back from my freshman year in High School so much has gone down and I never thought I would end up the way I am today w/ the friends I have. It's not how we always picture it to be. Although, some things did get better that have been in my life. It didnt stay the same, but GOT BETTER.

So, I want to encourage you all to live for the present and not for the future. Nothing stays the same forever, and you never know what you got till its gone.
